Best place to live in/near Atlanta? |
Travel Info My husband, our 4 year old and I are considering a move to Atlanta. But it is such a big city and I know so little about it, I need help! I'm looking for the perfect place to live while we're there. A good preschool/pre-K, still close enough to the MARTA, fairly cheap rent for apartments, good neighborhood, etc. Any ideas? I would really appreciate any help I can get!! Travel Tips Personally I wouldnt live in Atlanta, or the west side of Atlanta. Theres suburbs just outside of Atlanta that Marta goes too. Theres too many towns to list, but check out these links. You'll be able to find a place to live, schools, employment, etc etc........ Source(s): http://www.atlantaga.gov/ http://www.atlanta.net/ http://www.accessatlanta.com/ http://www.atlanta.com/ Other Travel Tips I live in the Virginia Highlands. It is a great neighborhood. Very fun. And just a few block away from Morningside, which has an excellent school system. The VIrginia Highlands are very convenient to downtown, we have MARTA and the Midtown Station is pretty close. www.virginiahighland.com If you're interested in condo (high-rise) living you should check out www.myurbancity.com. There's a ton of new condo buildings information there, as well as useful map that shows all the new condo developments around Atlanta. http://myurbancity.com/ http://myurbancity.com/gmaps/ ALPHARETTA, GA great community. about 20 minutes north of atlanta elem. schools= Summit Hill Elementary School Sweet Apple Elem. Crabapple Elem. ((summit hill is the best in my book!!!)) but There is a marta bus stop right on windward pkwy.. which is the main point of the city too!! Good Luckk The best place to live is near the "oak Grove" area. I grew up there and it is a wonderful area. Oak Grove is one of the best elementary schools in dekalb county and it feeds into some really good highschools too. The area is really nice and humble and about 20 minutes from everywhere else in atlanta. Marta goes there and there are plenty of nice apartments in the area. It is about 10 minutes from emory, 10min from downtown, 20 min from buckhead, 15min from decatur. Check out the area!! |
