Atlanta Gays?

I just want some clarity as to how high the percentage of gays in atlanta are. A friend of mine says that she thinks every guy she meets is gay until otherwise found out; is that the way to go about things in the A. Suspect everyone; well not everyone but most?

Roughly 5% of the population is homosexual. This appears to be a constant, though you will find that the number goes up in cities. The fact is that you can't always tell someone's sexuality by looking.
Well its the same for Atlanta as it is for any city in America. You can't always tell whos gay and whos not by just looking at them, or even talking to them. If you want to know how many there are, try checking out the gay bars and clubs. Sounds like your friend is a bit insecure about meeting guys. Maybe something happened to her in her life where she was attracted to a guy and found out he was gay. Its not a bad thing, but can be tramatizing to some people.
Atlanta has one of the highest gay percentages in the country. At the same time, we are talking about a city of 4 million+, so there are still a LOT of straight guys. For your friend to assume all the guys are guy until they prove otherwise is foolish. Sounds like some personal issues she needs to work out. That would be a safe bet in a gay bar or restaurant... but not a normal establishment. I went to Georgia Tech so lived in Midtown for 5 years. I saw a lot of gay men. I had some guys try to buy me a drink at normal bars. But not all guys are gay. And what do they have to do to prove they are not gay..? The only thing I can think of would automatically make them "pigs" or jerks.

There are certain areas of Atlanta that would be more gay than others. Midtown is a nice, chic area of the city. There are gay bars and restaurants here. This is where the highest percentage of gay people are. If you are in the Ansley Park area, it could actually be assumed most of the guys are gay. There are actually shopping centers there. But the rest of the city is pretty much a normal mix as with any other city. Hope this helps, and talk to your friend. She needs to get out and find out the truth.
