Girls Weekend In Atlanta? |
Travel Info I'm planning a girls weekend trip to Atlanta in mid-April, and wanted to get some advice about places to stay, fun things to do. We're in our early 20s, have a somewhat limited budget, but enjoy luxury spas and shopping. We also like to try new restaurants, and we'll definitely hit the nightlife scene. I'm looking for a hotel (got a few in mind, but I'm open to suggestions), some restaurants, some bars, and just any other trendy/hip/eclectic thing to do in Atlanta. We'll be driving, so distance isn't an option (although parking is). There's probably going to be 8 of us (maybe 6), and we'll be there Friday night thru Sunday afternoon. Thanks!!! Travel Tips Well I can't say much on hotels, there are plenty of nice ones, though I have never stayed in them. People always talk about parking in Atlanta, I rarely have any problem unless there is a huge event going on (like music midtown used to be, 300000 people). Many times it does cost as much as 5 bucks, 10 in certain lots, but rarely is there a problem finding parking. If you like shopping I like Lenox Mall, and phips plaza on peachtree rd in buckhead the two are basicly across the street from one another of course there is the atlanta aquarium, the high museum of art, the atlanta botanical gardens, the atlanta zoo, etc... if you are interested There are alot of good restaurants in atlanta depending on what you are looking for If you like sushi, try Nikimotos, corner of piedmont and tenth st, or Bluepointe on peachtree rd in buckhead, across from lenox mall If you like indian try Desi Spice on monroe dr If you like burgers try the vortex in little five points on moreland ave If you like italian, try Pricci on Phar road in buckhead, or La grotta (one of the oldest italian restaurants in atlanta) on peachtree rd If you like mexican/southwestern try Nava on west paces ferry in buckhead If you like thai, try the royal orchid in the midtown arts area, 10th street and monroe ave If you are looking for steak, try Chops, they are on west paces ferry in buckhead right next to Nava If you want a great cuban sandwich, cheap, go to cool corners on 14 th street, near GA Tech, looks like a hole in the wall, but they make the best cuban in atlanta But my main advise on girls night out, if you like strippers, go visit Swinging Richards, one of the largest male srtip clubs in the country. It is located on Northside drive, don't judge by the guys on their web page, seems like they pick the ugly ones to put on there. They have the hottest strippers. I have even met a few celebs there http://swingingrichards.com/ As far as clubs, visit club 1150, on cresent ave, next to a few nice restaurants, and around the corner from the 4 seasons hotel http://www.eleven50.com/ Halo is a little more laid back, diverse crowd, but still upscale. It is in the basement of the old biltmore hotel on west Peaachtree @ 6th st http://www.clubzone.com/c/atlanta/nightc... Two others if you don't mind going to a gay club(hot guys, just no chance of taking them home) The Wet Bar on 960 spring st used to be warehouse 960 www.wetbaratlanta.com/ The Jungle on Faulkner Rd, where thae chamber used to be, off cheshire bridge http://www.jungleclub.net/ Source(s): And I forgot to mention Spice, it is a great upscale/trendy restaurant as well as a place where they hold afterparties (often going till 8am) from time to time. Located at juni[er at 5th st, right down the road from where backstreet used to be http://www.spicerestaurant.com/... Other Travel Tips Wanna spend some cash? Shop at Lenox and/or Phipps Plaza. There are also some cool restaurants in those malls, which are within a couple miles of each other in Buckhead. North of Atlanta in Dunwoody is Perimeter Mall, and there are a ton of trendy restaurants up there that won't break your wallet in half. A cool one is Seasons 52, which specializes in items that are 400 calories or less. They also have single-serving desserts that are served in shot glasses. Bottom line -- the closer you stay to Atlanta, the more you'll generally pay. You'll usually find better hotel deals a little further out. Stay a little further out and then drive in to eat in some of the cozy restaurants on Highlands Ave. near Piedmont Park. Have fun! The Best Shopping Is Lenox Mall, there ar alot of great resturants all over town lived there for 6 months Eat at RuSans in buckhead. its a sushi bar in the middle of buckhead nightlife. http://local.yahoo.com/details;_ylt=aqlz... |
