I want to take my mother on a "girls only" week long vacation in Savannah, Georgia. I'm looking for the best place to stay. I want to get a rental house or apartment in a clean and quiet part of town. Also, what are the best places to go for dinner, tours to take and out of the way places to go?

The best place to stay is the historic district. This is where the most parks and squares are, lots of eating and tours, and the Riverwalk. This is where you want to be. There are tons of great hotels and B&Bs. Not sure about renting an apartment or house. This seems like it will take you away from the fun. I would go with a B&B if you want a more home-like feel. I saw on Food Network where they did $40 a day and stayed at the Hamilton-Turner Inn. It was beautiful, and had awesome food there. It is right where you want to be for the fun as well. Check it out, I don't think you can go wrong there.
