Atlanta residents? |
Travel Info Why does a lot of people in Atlanta have a piece of card board with writing on it instead of real tags on their cars? And what do they say> Travel Tips Although technically illegal, they are temporary tags for vehicles for one of two reasons: 1. If the vehicle was purchased (hopefully legally) from a private owner 2. The registered tag for the vehicle was stolen at some point. In both cases, the owner/driver has already (or is in the process of) applying for a new tag for their vehicle, or in the process of transferring the tag from their old vehicle to their new one. In the state of Georgia, you can transfer your tag from one vehicle to another. It only costs $5, if I'm not mistaken. Others tag applied fer haha!! i've seen that alot too. my bf put one on his motorbike when he was waiting on his tags. i cant believe they (police) dont say nuttin about that. it says "tag applied for____" and the date beside it Anybody with a scrap of cardboard that says "tag applied for" has not applied for a tag. If I were emperor, I would confiscate those cars and imprison the drivers. My wife keeps reminding me that I am not and never will be emperor of anything. Why the police don't come down on these people like a ton of bricks, I have no idea. I guess they're too busy shooting old ladies during dubious drug raids. |
