Traveling to Atlanta this summer, What are good affordable hotels near Super Dome. Any Cool Museums near by? |
Travel Info What are good affordable hotels near Super Dome. My Hubby will be in convention/ at the dome and I will be doing the tourist stuff. I love history (civil War & etc), any good musiems, homes to tour or Antique malls close by? Travel Tips Not many Old homes in Atlanta - thanks to Sherman. There is the Margret Mitchell house on Peachtree in midtown. That is near Piedmont park. Not too far from there is the High museum of art...we have a program with the Louvre so we are getting some wonderful art pieces in there. Some cute shops and galleries are the Virginia Highlands. It is downtown. There are tons of hotels, most are not cheap though. There is the Westin, Hyatt, Marriott Marquis. The Georgian (Great is you like history). If you visit the Georgia Dome website you will see many hotels listed. Altanta has a ton downtown. There is two malls that you can walk to. The Aquarium, The Arts Center. There is more than you could do in a week. Check out www.atlanta.net. They have a lot of information on there. Enjoy your visit! Atl is a wonderful place! Atlanta has a host of hotels in the area that you want to stay. I would suggest checking some of the travel sites for discounts. If you are interested in seeing some museums and catching some of the tourist attractions, your best bet is to purchase a City Pass. You'll save almost 50% of your admission prices and time in line.
