Whats the idea behind a "Lexus" parking section at Turner Field in Atlanta? |
Travel Info I mean WTF i didnt see a section for "Infiniti's". this is car profiling it sucks!!!!!! Travel Tips The whole Lexus thing started with Hall of Fame pitcher Don Sutton, who was on the Braves broadcast crew throughout the 1990s until a couple of years ago. He used that nickname for the club-level seats, and it stuck. For example, when a batter fouled off a ball Sutton might say, "That one made it into the Lexus level." Later Lexus picked up on the idea and paid Turner Field for sponsorship rights. So the club level is officially called the Lexus Level, and the special Lexus parking lot is an extension of that idea. I think it's clever marketing, though I don't own a Lexus and don't plan to buy one. And by the way, if you have never been to the Lexus Level, it's a totally different experience compared to the rest of the stadium. The corridors are carpeted. There is more food choice and hardly ever a line. (The suites are catered, which means even fewer people are wandering around looking for food.) There are lots of photos from Braves history. It's a better experience in terms of comfort, but you're more insulated from all the regular stadium experiences like rain, extremes of temperature, etc. Others Perhaps it's a special place for people who are legends in their own minds? There's not enough Infinitis for their own parking lot. I usually park in the Ford Explorer lot. Its really convenient until you get ready to leave and can find your car from the other explorers. Infiniti did not pay Turner Field what Lexus did to have their own section. If it upsets you that much, I would contact Infiniti and tell them you won't buy their cars unless they get a section of their own at Turner Field. actually, if you have ever been in the Lexus level at turner field, you would know that its called that because that particular section of seats is sponsored by the Lexus car co.(Toyota). if you wanted to pay out that kind of money out , you could have a section named after you too! Because they have a "Lexus Level" seats at Turner Field. Lexus is a sponser for Turner Field, hence they have "special" parking for the members/season ticketholders/people who pay extra to sit in those seats. You don't have to have a Lexus to park there, but you do need to have a Lexus parking pass to. Has nothing to do with car profiling. If you want to park there, either join their club or buy your tickets & parking pass for the Lexus level. |
