Im a single mother of a two year old and I want to relocate to Atlanta by Jan 2008 I don't know where to start |

Travel Tips You need to put together resumes for specific jobs before you move and just add the new address to the resume. The employer will not decide for you what kind of job to give you. Your resume should be aimed for something specific. If you want to work at a mortgage company, for example, create a resume with a mortgage trainee goal and line up everything for that. Then you would fax your resume to mortgage companies you found in yahoo yellow pages. Although you want to switch out of the restaurant work, you are probably best off contacting some restaurants so you have a job while you are looking for work. You might find a regular customer who can give you a job lead as well. That way your money will go further. Also, it is easier to find a job if you are employed, you look more desirable to employers if someone already wants your services. Others Do an internet search if no one responds. The stats I have found on cities lately have been very accurate. There is more affordable housing outside Atlanta. Try the north Georgia area in fact for some excellent housing. Hey, I didn't realize casino were legal in Atlanta. Thanks to the wonderful invention of the internet, relocating is easy. I would suggest checking out the job market on-line first. Send some resumes and see what comes of it. If you have family, have them keep your son for a few days while you go and look for a job and place to stay. The further out from Atl you go the cheaper and safer it is. Try to find something along one of the 3 interstates that run thru Atl- 75/85/20. There are lots of service jobs in Atl metro area. If you take a look at a map of GA- The first ring of counties are the most populate and expensive. The next ring is cheaper, less crowded, safer ect. A good starting point is to find a job first then find your place to live. |
