I am moving to atlanta ga , really east point georgia? |
Travel Info Can anyone tell me anything about moving to east point ga outside from atlanta ga , what i should know about going there.I will be there around late august .and want any advice anybodu can tell me ive heard enough bad...is east point like the projects or what .. Travel Tips the Washington avenue area is nice, also the area near the airport is nice (near camp creek parkway). Parts of main street can be nice, near the school and near fort mac but over all i'd stay away from that area. East point is pretty nice, and is gentrifying. it's only 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta, and the "downtown" area of east point is quaint, but nice. There's a marta stop on main street which i would never, ever use because marta is dangerous and it stinks. Housing is very affordable. City is predominantly black, with an influx of gays moving into Jefferson park area (one of the nicer areas of east point) East point isn't that bad- most people who say that haven't been there in 10 years and are basing their opinion on old bad reputation. it's near the west end, which isn't the nicest area of atl but is where spelman and morehouse are. it's also near college park- but is directly bordered to the small nice part of college park (they share a main street). However, it's very suburban and if you want night life you'll have to drive into the city. It's also close to 2 malls- greenbiar (don't bother going, area sucks) and southlake which is okay Source(s): lived there for 2 years Other Travel Tips some areas are iffy (older areas). Not quite projects but not far from it. Some areas are trying to revive themselves with new development. not sure its working. I wouldn't live there. |
