Where are the worst areas in Atlanta are on the out skirts not to stay while on vaction? |
Travel Info Trying to find a good location in atlanta to stay while on Vaction Travel Tips Don't stay on the outskirts when you come. Summer hotel rates in the city are pretty low because Atlanta is not much of a summer destination. I would recommend Buckhead or Midtown. Both are safe and easily accessible to everything. The best deal in Buckhead is the Springhill Suites or Hyatt Place. In Midtown, try the Marriott Suites on 14th. It's next door to the Four Seasons for a third of the price! All three of these Hotels are all suites, which means you get a large room with a somewhat useful "kitchen" instead of just a minibar. This can save you some $$ on food and drink. Source(s): BP! Other Travel Tips Stay out of South side, and Air Port area for crimes. Buckhead, and even Alpharetta, and Midtown are good choices. They all are safe and have great shopping and things to do. There are a lot of great places to stay. Avoid: Buford Hwy from Doraville to Norcross GA Tech (10th St to 14th St) area Pretty much anything on i-20 within the 285 perimeter Anything near the airport (Hapeville, Jonesboro, Forest Park) Tucker/Doraville/Norcross/ Lithonia Suggestions: Stone Mountain Park (gotta love the fireworks show) The hotels off of Peachtree NE, Spring St, and Piedmont Ave. Marriot Marquis, Westin, Hilton, Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, and some cheaper ones. They are all near the GA Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, Philips Arena, CNN Center, Coca-Cola building, etc. There is also Six Flags, Whitewater, Lake Lanier Water park (45min - 1hr drive), Helen ("little Switzerland" about an 1.5 hr drive), and tons of great State Parks. I hope this helped. Have a great trip! |
