Going to Charleston and Savannah... anything you recommend? |
Travel Info We're going to spend a few days there. We're looking on the internet quite a bit but is there anything really good to see or do there? Travel Tips Charleston has a place called Patriot's Point which has a navy carrier that you can go on. If you like that type of thing then that was a lot of fun. Also, there are bus tours and the beach and old Forts. I've never been to Savannah though so I dont know about there... Source(s): personal experience Other Travel Tips Historically, there are many things to do. Both places have many tours that take you to the highlights of the areas( you can book them at your hotel). I prefer Savannah ,as it is more of a walking town.The riverfront there is quite nice, but so is Battery Park in Charleston and the old Market area. The food in both places is exceptional-my favorite is Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House in Savannah-just ask anyone for directions. Tybee Island is right outside Savannah and a nice beach area. For my 8th grade field trip we went to Savannah. It's so beautiful there, just to walk around on Riverstreet and shop. They have a really great trolley/bus tour that goes around Savannah. |
