Lisa, my 20 year old daughter, kinda ran away to new Jersey, to be with her fiance. So i kinda understand you have to get away sometimes to grow up! You may want to go to ajcjobs.com to look at the area you want to look for a job in. houses and apartments rent for about 800-1000 per month here, and I understand that Clark Atlanta is a fine university. Now you should tell your parents you are going to move and do it. Don't be angry, and tell them sometimes you just gotta do ,what you just gotta do! hope that helps, and god luck!

lisa - you are 20 years old - that's not running away - that's moving maybe they're overprotective cause you're immature???
u can check on all of that online jus browse the local newspapers for the area of ATL u going to you can fill out applications online n get a job before u get there
There are many jobs that would pay that (having a good letter of reference will really help you get that job). Atlanta is a big city and as such pays better than most areas in the south (which usually pays lower than the east and west coast.

Rent depending on where in Atlanta will vary depending on where in downtown (the better the area the more you will pay).

Clark Atlanta is a very good school and they have both a BSW and MSW.

yea i know that feeling. My parents are like that too; sometimes worse! lol I am 19 i don't have a job and i so whish I could do alot of things on my own. My mom especially worries about everything!!!!
I have lived in Atlanta GA for over 8 years before i moved to Chicago! Here we go:
1.There are several jobs in Atlanta that pay way over 10.00 an hour! I was in college making 10.75 as a hostess!Go to ajcjobs.com! If you want to live COMFORTABLE (i mean shopping, eating, some partying, back and forth to work you might want to find a job that pay a Little more than $10.00 an hour)!
2.I lived at this apartment complex on 3rd and peachtree called 710! it was a starter apartment! it was conventient because it was in the heart of midtown, across the street from the train and near lots of bars! i like it! for a studio it was 600 and my one bedroom 625! but by the end of the month bills and everything it was about 750(but that included everything)
i upgraded to a condo.a couple blocks down it was 1250 but it was reallly nice.so between 750-850! look on craigslist for apartments!
3.clark is a good school (spellman is better)
4. 10.00 is too less to me
GOOD LUCK
