Has anyone been to Atlanta Georgia and whats it like? |
Travel Info I need to know about airport experiences, the city and the people who live there? Any interesting stories. Travel Tips Atlanta airport is the busiest airport in the world. Considering that, it can be chaos there at peak times of the day. If your departing from there, arrive well in advanced. Atlanta is like every major city in America. You have the good and the bad. Overall, its a nice city. Theres plenty to do in and around Atlanta. As one other person said earlier, theres racism. Racism is everywhere. Doesnt matter where you are. So stating that Atlanta only has that is pretty discriminating. I think if you go there to visit, you'll enjoy your time there. Heres a few links for you to check out with different things to go do and see. Source(s): http://www.atlanta.net/ http://www.accessatlanta.com/ Other Travel Tips Full of racism Full of americans man it is all way green grass they have a lot of family reunions. the airport is always busy its like every one knows each other it's one in a kind but the food might gain u some wait but if u live on a base like i do it is spectacular It is a good airport with plenty of cheap airport accommodation all with courtesy transport. Stone Mountain Park is spectacular and they have a good baseball team but the city is a big commercial sprawl and pretty uninspiring with bad traffic. The state is fabulous and the city of Savannah on the Atlantic coast is worth a couple of days on anyone's life. Atlanta is a great city to visit. There is lots to do indoors & outdoors, lots of great restaurants, lots of hotels. It is a very contemporary city, not old & run down like other cities I've been to. We have major sports teams here, so no matter what time of year you visit there is always a sporting event to see. We have Six Flags Over Georgia, White Water Park, American Adventures. We have the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta History Center, World of Coca-Cola, Zoo Atlanta, Martin Luther King Historical Sites, Stone Mountain Park, Margaret Mitchell House, Oakland Cemetary, Turner Field, etc. I will admit there are parts of the city to stay away from, but most of those places are not in the touristy area of Atlanta. And the comment someone posted about Atlanta being full of racists is just not true. |
