ROUND THE WORLD!!! How can I raise/ save money to go travelling?? |
Travel Info I want to go travelling next year (for at least a year) and I would be most grateful for ANY ideas on how to save money and raise money to make my dream come true!! It's something i've wanted to do for years and i've finally decided it's time for me to 'full my finger out' and get going!!! Thank you!!! xx Travel Tips For some reason when people recommend books to me, I say, "Oh, thanks" but never even dream of reading them. But listen: Do an internet search on this man right now: Rolf Potts. He wrote this book called "Vagabonding: The Art of Long-term Travel", which I own. It has changed my life. It is the handbook on how to raise/save money to go travelling. He tells a story about Charlie Sheen's character in "Wall Street". Rich and young, he tells his friend that "...if I can make enough money now, then hopefully one day when I'm old I'll be able to ride my motorcycle across China..." "Absurd!" writes Potts. "You can work for three months scrubbing toilets and have enough to ride a motorcycle across China!" And then he proceeds to show you how. If you're travelling to Australia and you're under 31 then you may be entitled to a working visa. This visa will allow you to take some jobs here while you're travelling around the country.
