Some nice tourist destinations within 3 hours of Auckland, New Zealand? |
Travel Info I live in Auckland and want to get away for a weekend to some nice and relaxing place without driving too much. Have done most popular places like Hamilton, Tauranga, Coromandel, Bay of Islands. Looking for something smaller but more relaxing Travel Tips Australia's just about 3 or 4 hours away. Others rent a bach on rangitoto island Did you try Rotorua I don't think there are accomodations on Rangitoto Island. Could try the Great Barrier Island. I recommend the Waipoua Forest, though it might take a little more than 3 hours to get to the heart of it. DoC has a campsite up there where you can stay for a song. It's got tent pitching sites and also cabins. Rotorua is fun, Hot Water Beach, Coromandel, Goat Island and Warkworth, Tauranga is wonderful and the Mount is one of those places you can keep going back to. how about sleepy old PORT WAIKATO.it has got a little weekend holiday park give them a ring 092329857. only bout a hour from downtown auckland What about Leigh, it's up north near Warkworth, Goat Island is there too, that's cool, you can dive there amongst the fish. Or snorkle. It's very small, relaxing place. Or a bit further up is Mangawai Heads, lovely beaches etc. Dunno with the weather at the mo, but it still beautiful. |
