Auckland isnt a compact city its one of the biggest geographically, renting a car would be a good idea, and if you can get out of the city! None that I know of. Oh man! If you like being thrilled, then you have to do the Skycity Tower jump. It's a nearly 200m freefall from the top. Well, you're strapped into a harness with steel cables.
