In Fort Worth take Hwy 287 to Amarillo
in Amarillo Take I-40 to Hwy 285 to Sana Fe, NM then take I-25 to colorado

You should take the i5 it is the largest freeway in the United States. In fact it streghtes as far as Califoria to Newyork.
