Is the humidity in Austin really that bad?

Travel Info
I'm planning on moving from Phoenix to Austin and everyone keeps telling me how much hotter it is in Austin, because of the humidity. Is it really that unberable and if so, for how long?

Travel Tips
I live in Austin, I think you will be trading a really dry heat for a dry heat.

austin is hot yes, but not humid. it only gets humid in august. it's basiclly the same weather as phoenix...and austin is way better!
Austin is super humid. It's not as bad as living on the coast, like Houston, but it is really bad. You'll hear, especially during the summer months, the heat index, that takes into effect the humidity and how hot it feels outside. It gets pretty high in the summer 100+.
It gets pretty hot here, and it can be humid at times, especially during the summer months, but you won't find it any worse here than other parts of the state. Plus it's a beautiful place to live.
The first two answers are right. Austin is not humid at all. For the most part, it is a dry heat. Yes, it is hot but you understand hot if you are in Phoenix. Now I have been to Phoenix in the summer, and I will say that there are some days in Austin, especially in the spring after a rain where the humidity is not good. I have family in Mississippi and Florida and I am telling you, Austin has no humidity after going to visit the family. Same as AZ, when it is hot outside, get into the shade and it is nice. With humidity, even the shade doesn't help. When I step outside in the summer in Mississippi (in shade or not), I am soaked within a minute. This is not the case in Austin.
HONEY PREPAER TO BAKE FROM NOW, OR FROM THE TIME YOU MOVE HERE UNTIL AUGUST. BECAUSE THAT'S HOW LONG IT WILL BE HOT IN TEXAS PERIOD.

IT USUALLY DOES NOT START COOLING OFF UNTIL AROUND THE END OF SEPTEMBER GOING INTO OCTOBER. TEXAS WHEATHER IS UNPREDICTABLE EITHER WAY YOU LOOK AT IT. ASK SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS, THEY'LL TELL YOU HOW IT IS. HOT ONE DAY, COLD THE NEXT. RAINING ONE DAY, A DROUGHT FOR 3 WEEKS, THAT'S JUST HOW IT IS DOWN HERE.

FYI...WE HAVE ALREADY HAD 100 DEGREE WHEATHER IN APRIL AND IT USUALLY DOSEN'T GET LIKE THAT UNTIL JUNE. IF YOU THINK YOU CAN RIDE WITHOUT YOUR AC GOOD LUCK CAUSE IT'S HOT HOMIE. USUALLY DOSEN'T WORK, BUT GO FOR IT, IT WILL SAVE YOU GAS SOME KIND OF WAY. IT'S GONNA BE A LONG SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST LIVING HERE BAKIN LIKE A POTATOE FOR THE LAST 12 YEARS..
