Are there any Chinatowns or Asian neighborhoods in Austin, TX?

Travel Info
I am considering relocating from Michigan to Austin, TX since the economy is bad here. I am interested in Austin because of its culture and reasonable cost of living. Are there any asian neighborhoods or Chinatown areas? If so, are they relatively safe? (I'm Chinese).

Travel Tips
Austin doesn't really have a real China Town, at least not the kind that are in Houston, TX, which is a 2 1/2 hr drive away. There are several shopping centers with restaurants and supermarkets scattered around Austin, mostly in North Austin and South Austin. They currently building a "China Town" in North Austin off of N. Lamar, which looks promising.

Others
The new shopping center is now open. it's big. u can pretty much find anything 'asian' in austin. houston has a huge chinatown and u can easily make a day trip there. it's 2.5 hrs.
rests: di ho(chinese), tan tan(vietnamese), korea house(korean), no good thai food though. tons of japanese rests.
