Is Austin, Texas a nice place to live?

I am moving very soon, I wanted to know if Austin / San Antonio was a good place to live, or any towns/cities around that area in Texas? Or Any suggestions for other places in Texas. What is your experience like there?

Central Texas in general is a great place to live. If you like city life Austin is it. If you like a little more suburban living look south of Austin in the Kyle/Buda/San Marcos area. Rural look west of Austin in the Hill Country.

I'm a native Texan and the Austin area is the only place I'd live in the whole state. San Antonio is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't live there. Try to ignore the negative comments by others...most of us are friendly even if we are weird, but hey that's our motto "KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD".

Yes it's a beautiful place to live and there is alot to do there.
It sounds like it's full of weird, alternative, freaky, yuppie people.

Seriously, live around these people first before you ASSUME you'll like them. They can be VERY strange, and not as open-minded and friendly as they claim to be. If you are down-to-Earth and sociable, please don't move somewhere like this. Just an FYI.

I wish I could smack you upside your face for even talking about that awful state. Worse state in the union.
austin is a great place to live, dont listen to the dude wanting to smack people, because of our great companies like
ti and the space center he has a computer, sounds like one of those ,guys thats proud of his home town
