It may cost a little bet more than flying into Dallas but it is closer to Fort Hood. From Austin all you have to do is get on to I-35 and hit 190 and you will be in Fort Hood. I live in Killeen and I lived in Austin for 19 years. It only takes about a hour from Austin to get to Hood and from Dallas it takes about 2 hours or so, depending on how fast you drive.fort hood has an airport now...try this http://www.flykilleen.net/ hope it helps.....
