What would you suggest doing/visiting in Austin, to a person that'll only be there half a day? |
Travel Info Me and my girlfriend are going to Austin to attend a concert on the night of Friday, September 15. The next day we return home (a six-hour drive). So we'll be in town on Saturday, September 16, from the moment we wake up until about 2-3 pm. Is there anything you'd say we can't miss while being there? Travel Tips I would have breakfast at Kerby Land on South Lamar.(Best pancakes in the world) Congress Avenue is a must. At least go to Guerro's for lunch. Walk around up and down the shops for a bit, OR..... Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail is beautiful....not too far away from Congress Ave. If you don't want to walk it, sit on The Hyatt Hotel patio and have a drink while viewing the river, bridges, and downtown. Another place to go is the Hula Hut on Lake Austin Blvd. Tex-Mex food with a view. Another great way to see Austin is to take the Duck Adventure Tour. Go to their web site for departure times and also for more Austin site seeing information. Have fun! and come back again. Source(s): http://www.austinducks.com/austin.html... Other Travel Tips Drive up on Mount Bonnell. It's a high cliff overlooking Lake Austin, very romantic. Good Mexican food, the capital, nice little stores, arts & crafts shops, the museum, walk the sidewalks and check out the cool little shops. Theres alot you can do in a short time. We live 2 hours away, we take day trips & its fun. Stroll South Congress street. Lots of cool little specialty shops and great places to grab some grub! Have fun! Lived there for 4 years... Congress, It is a street with LOADS of nifty little shops! |
