I wasn't able to turn up anyone huge in my research, but the IMDb lists Tex Hughson, who was an American League Pitcher with the Boston Red Sox (1941-1944 & 1946-1949; 1945 = military service). He was born Cecil Carlton Hughson in Buda in 1916, and died in San Marcos, Texas, in 1993. He made his major league debut on April 16, 1941, and led the American League in winning percentage (.783; 18 wins, 5 losses). In 1942 he led the American League in wins (22), complete games (22), innings pitched (281), and strikeouts (113). He was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2002.
