What is there to do in Brownwood Texas?

I regret to inform you that there is NOTHING to do in Brownwood. I have relatives in San Saba and Brownwood is the "big town" people go to in that area. My cell phone doesn't even work out there half the time!!!! Brownwood has a "mall," but it's, like, 4 stores.

Take board games. And a good book. Or two.

Now, if you are a nature lover, this is a fairly pretty area... if you like rolling hills, lakes and cedar trees. Oh! Take some anti-histamines and decogestants with you. Even people who've never had allegy problems can suffer in this area.

So anyway, if you like hiking, fishing, camping, then you should have a really wonderful time. If you enjoy things like clubs and crowds, you are in the wrong place.

If you are not from Texas, though, I highly recommend finding a steakhouse and a bar so that you can experience the culture. It should be very, very interesting. You will see "for real" cowboys. Go to Studebaker's or the Red Wagon (I forget which) to see what it's like to go out with your family when you're from rural Texas. Definitely have some chicken-fried steak, and biscuits, every chance you get. And remember that Texas is a HUGE state with urban areas, too. You're just not going to be near any. For your next trip to Texas, I recommend San Antonio, Houston or Dallas.

Nothing exciting. I have lived here for almost 6 years, and there is not much to do. We have a Super Wal-Mart and a Home Depot. We are in an area where a lot of people come for health rehab. We do have Lake Brownwood, but activities there are usually limited to summer time. We are 20,000+ people here who have very little to do. Good luck and don't get too bored here.
I've never been there but I have some friends that go to school there and from what I've heard there isn't much to do. They play games and stuff like that. I know they do some stuff at the local wal-mart but that wouldn't really help you. I know there is a mall or something like an hour or so away... I wish I could help but I can't think of anything.
