Nice neighborhood in Austin TX to live?

Travel Info
Might move there because of a job change. Please recommend a good neighborhood in Austin, safe for kids. Thanks!

Travel Tips
The nicest areas are:

Travis Heights, south of the river and east of Mopac, west of I35. Probably the most interesting neighborhood, the most cool stuff w/in walking distance.

Hyde Park, between 45th street, I35, Airport Blvd. and, while spreading ever-northward, I'd say stops at Koenig/2222.

Tarrytown, west of MoPac, between 38th Street and Lake Austin Blvd.

Clarksville, same as Tarrytown but east of Mopac, west of Lamar.

And then there's Westlake, west of Mopac, south of Lake Austin Blvd. It's the neighborhood where all the shopping centers look the same and the McDonald's is in a matching beige brick just like the jeweller's down the way. It's got the most money and supposedly the best schools (the schools in the other neighborhoods are good, too), but all the entitlement that comes with it. Denied by all the residents, of course, but no one thinks they have a sense of entitlement.

Really, if you live anywhere west of I35, south of Airport Blvd, north of Oltorf, you'll be in a safe neighborhood with a good school. The rest is just looking for the enclave of neighbors you prefer.

I live in Austin. Please add some details about where your job might be (what part of town if you know) and what is your price range for rent/mortgage. Pflugerville is a suburb that is really affordable and great family place if you are going to work North Austin or Round Rock. I know north better than south but can give more suggestions if you can give more detail.
Try the Farwest and Steck area. i used to live there and it was great and quite and near school

Umm, there's no way you're gonna live that close to UT. It's all student housing. You wouldn't WANT to live that close, trust me!

All parts of Austin are nice, but stay away from the east side. North Austin is especially nice - tons of space for the money.
South Austin is very nice.
