But, if you would like to try something really different and folksy-drop by The Broken Spoke for an hour or so. You will get a taste of some original Texas style entertainment. Watch people dance the "Cotton Eyed Joe." You will never forget it. Also, don't forget to eat some Tex-Mex while you are here. Matt's El Rancho is just down the road from "the Spoke." Others Just go to 6th street. Go to Trudy's for a great tex-mex meal and mexican martini and then hit 6th street for tons of clubs! 6th Street is a lot of fun especially from a rooftop bar and restaurant. Stay in a downtown hotel and take a cab to 6th street. Do not drink and drive in Austin! March is an excellent time to go to Austin. Sixth street is always a party, as is the warehouse district between Lamar and congress avenue in the downtown area. If you like country music, the broken spoke is neat.
