I was in Texas for the first time in my life. I saw alot of Texans driving on the shoulder of the road. Why? |
Travel Info Not that I think its crazy. My friends and I have traveled alot and have never seen this and would like to know the reason. Travel Tips ive usually seen this on those two lane roads out in the country. when people drive on the side its usually bc they are going really slow. it tends to be a bit safer for them to do this than to try and pass in the other lane while they toot along. ive also seen really slow cars just drive on the side so they dont hassle others. i dont think it is tons, unless you drive out in the country alot. this doesnt happen on regular highways unless their car is breaking down. Others In texas they believe that if your a slower driver you should drive on the shoulder to let the people who go the speed limit or faster pass by. I think its' stupid, but it's texas. Texans are crazy drivers, you can expect anything from them. Best place to kill those slower moving armadillos. (They're a delicacy there - chili, stews, etc. ...) It is the way the whites try to intimidate the Mexicans who are hitch hiking i moved to Texas last year and i didn't understand it either but it is just a matter of curtisy if you are a slower driver the faster ones know just to go around you when you move to the side. A Texan was driving on the shoulder of the road when a policeman pulled him over. He rolled down his window and said to the officer, "Is there a problem, Officer?" "No problem at all. I just observed your safe driving and am pleased to award you a $5,000 Safe Driver Award. Congratulations. What do you think you're going to do with the money?" He thought for a minute and said, "Well, I guess I'll go get that drivers' license." |
