How is the weather in austin, tx? |
Travel Info How is the weather in austin, tx? Travel Tips The winters are quite comfortable, compared with the rest of the country. Temps are usually around 50s and 60 for the highs and 40s for the lows (some occasional 30s too). The one bad thing is when it freezes around here (once or twice a year). Since Texas driver's don't have much experience driving in this kind of weather, it causes a lot of accidents. Springs are excellent (temps in the 70s and 80s for the highs). If you're an outdoor person, definitely take advantage of this time. Some days and nights do get muggy due to the high humidity (May is the wettest month of the year for Austin). Summers can be unbearably hot (this can sometimes start by late Spring, or June). If you're not used to temps in the high 90s and lower-to-mid 100s, you will be in for a long hot summer. To make matters worse, this is usually the driest time of the year, causing droughts in certain areas of Central Texas. Much of the rain we get during this time and fall results from the hurricane weather activity in the Gulf of Mexico as well as the Pacific Ocean (Baja California area). Fall weather is not much better since the high temps usually last well into October before falling down to the much tolerable 80s. In all, the weather here is nice. Hope this helps.Dec-Jan-Feb can be cool and rainy Mar-Apr-May can be warm but stormy June-July-Aug-Sept are HOT Oct-Nov can be very pleasant But the most important thing about Austin to remember is that traffic is the worst in Texas! If you like outdoor activities...Austin is the right place for them...from March you can enjoy them, you can enjoy the nature from March till Oct, maybe November( July and Aug are pretty hot though, you can go out only in the evening). Hopefully this helps. I live in Austin. right now its rainy but its usually pretty good weather |
