I am looking for a good hotel near 6th St. for a group of guys to party but who can afford a pretty nice place |
Travel Info We are attending a show at Antone's and want to be within walking distance to it and the 6th st. scene. Travel Tips How about the Omni ( http://www.resideo.com/48549657.hotel... )? It's just a few blocks from 6th Street. They have a rooftop pool & hot tub -- can't get much better than that! Others If you want a good, reasonable hotel only 4 blocks from antone's, try La Quinta on San Jacinto. Omni may have a rooftop pool, but you will be partying on 6th street 24/7, and I'm sure you don't plan wasting your time at the hotel all day. Omni will be 2-3 times the cost of La Quinta. LQ is midrange, new, has a nice pool and continental breakfast, and is 3 blocks from all the action. You are talking 225 or so a night for a group, as opposed to 60-75 bucks at LQ, which is quite nice. I'd say screw the rooftop pool and spend the money you save partying on 6th st. Like I say, you won't be hanging around the hotel anyway... LQ is good, but it's on 11th and San Jacinto, about 8 blocks from Antone's. Also know that you'll be paying about $12/night/car for valet parking at almost any downtown hotel, including LQ. You might want to try Extended Stay America. It's on 6th and Guadalupe, and has comparable rates to LQ and no parking/valet charges. Worked in downtown hotels, including LQ. |
