Great Cafes In Austin With Outdoor Seating? |
Travel Info what would u recommend? Travel Tips Mexican-Chuys on 183 or Hula Hut or Iron Cactus on 6th. "American"-Shady Grove on Barton Springs "Pub"-Sherlocks on 183. there are several bar/pubs on 6th the have outdoor seating and are open during the day. Hope this helps. Others Depends on what kind of food you like. I do not live in Austin now, moved away a few years ago and am moving back this year in the fall. When I lived there I loved the terrace at the Aligator Grill on South Lamar. During Happy Hour they served peel & eat shrimp for 10 cents a piece and oysters on the half shell for 25 cents a piece. We would go, order a salad, a box of shrimip and oysters and iced tea or a drink on the patio and sit till dark enjoying the outdoor air. I also liked La Madeleine (sp) on Lamar or the one up north off of 183. We sat on the patio at the Lamar street location and watched dozens of hummingbirds flit around the blooming plants that were there. It was fascinating and entertaining. We also used to go to a place that overlooked a creek area in the downtown area (maybe 5th) but I cannot remember the name. They had twinkle lights over the patio and starched tablecloths, very pretty, great food, sorry I can't remember the name. I am sure that other answerers will come up with some other places, there are so many, but I really enjoyed the two mentioned very much. Good food and very relaxing.
