Austin, during summer, what is average temperature? |
Travel Info I spend a lot time in Austin this summer (from Italy). Wondering how hot Austin gets in summer. I would look it up, but online temps seem to be wrong a lot of times...so, thank you! Travel Tips The average may be in the 80's but I promise you it won't make it that low unless there is a rain storm or hell has frozen over. Usually by mid May it's already in the 80's. From June till early October it will be 92-98 with quite a few days in the upper 90's and at least a week's worth of 100's. I believe 90F is equal to 33C, not sure. Bring light weight clothing. Drinks lots of water. I wouldn't go jogging at noon although lots of idiots do. And thank God air conditioning is just about everywhere. If you are near the river, Barton Springs (just south of Town Lake) stays 68 degrees all year round. Ahhhh! Source(s): My source? My *** lives in Austin. Other Travel Tips 90s The average temperatures are in the 80s but a string of 90 and 100+ days is not at all unusual. The average tempature is about 91-113 according to last year. Today at 4:35 it is 86. It gennerally is warmer in the afternoon The other answers are all correct, or somewhat correct. The daytime temps (highs) are usually in late afternoon and they frequently are in the high 90's. It is usually in the 70's and pleasant in the evenings and very nice to be outdoors. Some summers it has been very hot and there were strings of several days when the temperature reached several degrees over 100 but this is not usual for long periods of time, and usually during August it is hottest. As one other person told you, bring cool clothing, bring a hat for sun shade, bring plenty of sun screen and when all else fails, go inside to the air conditioning. Welcome, I hope you have a wonderful summer. Hope I get to visit Italy some summer. It is one of the places I would most like to visit. Kathy The average temperature in Austin is in the 90's. But, the humidity makes it feel like in the 100's. Since it is in the hill country, it's cooler in the evening. Still, I would find a pool, lake, river or air conditioned building to find relief. Do bring a sweater as hot as it is inside, Texans are known for placing the thermometer inside on 68 degrees and then you are bone chilling cold going from outside in the 90's to inside in the 60's, but the guys will be comfortable in the 60's. Of course I am speaking in Fahrenheit and you will have to convert to Celcius. |
