If you live in Austin, Texas can you please help me out with this one? |
Travel Info Can someone who lives in Austin, TX please tell me if the flooding is bad there. We are planning a trip next week, and were wondering if we would be able to drive through there? If not, where would you recommend going through to get to San Antonio from Fort Worth? Travel Tips I just drove around today. Yes, there is some flooding inside Austin. But not enough at all to say that you shouldn't come for a visit. The major flooding was about 40 miles from here in Marble Falls. Others The flooding is still increasing there right now, I'm not from the area but I doubt any one would be able to get online considering all the recent flooding. I think it's only going to get worse in Texas right now. The city of Austin is flooded really bad right now they were using helicopters to get people out of the area. San Antonio is flooded as well. As long as you stay on I-35, you should be ok. Just keep checking the weather reports for that area as you get closer to your departure date. It rains really hard, floods and the water goes down fast. The only areas that are really bad is the lake Travis area only because the flood gates have been opened to give relief to the other cities and towns that have had serious flooding. Right now its not like the city is shut down or anything like that. So far this week the rain has come and gone. I don't think you'll have any problems as long as you stay on 35 and not veer off on the access roads. Just keep an eye on the weather channel for next week. You will be fine coming through here. It mostly hit to the North West in Marble Falls. Come on.... pretty bad flooding but where i live its still dry but like alot of roads r closed and the water level is so high the treeswhich used 2 b 3 ft away from the water is now in the water i think either get a new route or postpone ur trip btw there was a black out yesterday |
