Questions about ACL festival???

Travel Info
I've never been before but I got a single day pass for Saturday and a single day pass for Sunday...

1.) Can I go in with my ticket or do I have to go get a wristband?
2.) Is a wristband different from a ticket?
3.) How long does to get in through the entrance?
4.) What should I expect when I go to Austin City Limits?
5.) How much does it cost to eat or buy snacks? Is it like a movie theatre or theme park prices?

Travel Tips
1.) Can I go in with my ticket or do I have to go get a wristband? The staff at the entry will fit you with a wristband when you present your ticket. They'll also offer you an "over 21" wristband so you don't have to present your ID every time you want to buy alcohol.

2.) Is a wristband different from a ticket? For a one day pass, not really. There's no re-entry with a one day wristband/ticket, and they're a different color than the three day wristbands. It's just so the staff know you got in "legally" and you don't have to worry about hanging onto a ticket stub.

3.) How long does to get in through the entrance? Never more than a few minutes (like 3-5), in my experience. Security staff will check your bag for weapons and other contraband. I've never been turned away for having more than the allowable volume of water, and I usually take like six liters with me!

4.) What should I expect when I go to Austin City Limits? Crowds. Heat. Long lines for food and drink (but not usually for bathrooms or the water fountain!). A little good natured competition for shady spots near the stages, but most folks are willing to share. Friendly people. Good people-watching! Great music, and a huge spectrum of styles.

5.) How much does it cost to eat or buy snacks? Is it like a movie theatre or theme park prices? It's somewhere inbetween normal and theme park. The festival organizers try to keep prices fair. A 20-ounce cup of iced tea will cost you $3, as will a 12-ounce can of beer. A good-sized sandwich willl cost about $6-7 and usually comes with chips. A giant snow cone, $4. There's usually a fairly wide range of prices and selection of food, so you can eat/drink for $20-50 a day per person. Source(s): Live in Austin, attend the festival all three days every year.
