I'm going there for two weeks and staying with a host family, with a group of kids from my school. It will be in Southern Germany Munik (Muenchen) and Ulm. I'm trying to figure out what would be a cool souvenir or gift to bring home. So far I want to buy some German Magazines, but I need more suggestions. If you could help I'd be much obliged.

The main thing is, you don麓t buy anything in a souvenir shop! Everything you can buy there is definiteley not german! (I know it, because I am german) Especially because you will go to Munich. There is one thing you should know: Bavarian people also are NOT typical German! I would buy clothes (very cheap), food (but no Wei脽wurst or Sauerkraut, noone eats things like that, they are disgusting), music (but no folk-music, because only people over 50 listen to it, but german charts are fairly good), practical things, nothing you can put on your cupboard, because you麓ll throw it away very soon. Most things you could buy in a souvenir shop are from China or somewhere, where it can be produced very cheap, so take care :-) |
