Oh, man, they have some good ones. With career travelers (carnies) and extended families (gypsies and non-gypsies alike). They are called 鈥淜IRMES鈥?and the biggest Kirmes on the Rhine is in Dusseldorf in May/June. Simply awesome and filled with old-fashioned fun houses and rollercoasters. In the East they get even more vintage and nostalgiac. I love them. The one on Berlin鈥檚 Alexanderplatz in December is hilarious 鈥?seriously old-fashioned.
So anyway, look for posters that advertise a 鈥淜irmes鈥?coming to town. Knock yourself out! |
