Travel Info I am going to New Providence Island - does anyone know any must-see places that I won't find in the guide books? Or just any cool places to go? Travel Tips Our experience on New Providence island was all about going to all the great restaurants and being in the water. Snorkeling, swimming and just hanging out. We did rent a boat out and we went fishing, that was the best. We arranged with the hotel to pick up the fish we caught and they cooked the fish for us. Boy did we have a feast. Everyone was asking where we caught the fish. That was one of our favorite vacation with family. Have a great trip. s Others In New Providence, snorkeling is a must. Imagine sliding in clear waters and admiring the spectaular collection of reef fishes, mollusks, sea anemones, shrimps, and even sharks. Professional and amateur divers will find several exceptional sites for snorkeling. If some travelers prefer to find the best places on their own after internet research and from talking with the locals, other travelers prefer to get to the place with everything planned out in advance. These travevelers should book in advance with the companies that organize the trips to the different sites. One of the most popular ones is Stuart Cove's. While you can always make a reservation from your hotel in New Providence, it is better to do it online at www.stuartcove.com to receive a discount. It is recommended that you book a place at least a week in advance to make sure that you got a spot and to get a better price. Instead of (or along with) snorkeling, you can scuba dive and explore the Walls and wrecks that lay on the depth of the Caribbean. This company can even get you to the famous Caribbean Reef Sharks. Other companies that willl take you to great diving sites are Bahama Divers C0; Divers haven and Small Hope Bay Lodge.
