Im going in august and cant wait but I'm looking on some feed back on the resort

Travel Tips
Aside from the older style rooms and small bathrooms, everything at the Riu was amazing. (Either way, I did not spend much time in the room).
I went to the Riu from May 10-17th, and everything was amazing. There is no way that a 4 night stay would have been enough. Too much to see-especially with the Atlantis next door.
The food is fantastic both at the buffets and sit down restaurants. Yet I think that the supper buffet is almost better than the restaurants. The Sir Alexander restaurant was very nice, very fancy and the service is also great! Beware no food or drinks are available at the Riu after midnight! This was quite dissapointing.
As for the pool, its ok when there are not too many people-since it is small. The pool bar is great, you never really have to wait too long-ever! The ocean is beautiful, yet it was slightly wavy while we were there.
At night everyone goes to the Atlantis, so the lobby at the Riu get's pretty boring. The shows are also quite basic-nothing to rave about especially when the Atlantis is next door. This is also one of the great features of this hotel-the easy access to Atlantis...You will see celebrities if you are lucky-I did!!!

I will certainly return to this resort, it will actually be hard to go anywhere else!
Pros: food really was good, service at front desk was good, walking distance to ferry or Atlantis, drinks were great!, beach was nice (although too windy so we couldn't get in the water), rooms were very clean and frig stayed stocked. Had a massage at the hotel Spa and it was very nice. Poop Deck is a good place to eat and feeding the sharks was a great experience for me and my friends.
Others
I have not stayed at the RIU Paradise Island property yet, but I will say I have the best luck with RIU properties. I get few if any complaints from this chain. But I don't sell the Bahamas for often. Also know that Aug. is hurricane season and the Bahamas is a prominent area for hurricanes usually.

Make sure to purchase travel insurance and find out on the rules of coverage when it comes to hurricanes. Because there are very specific rules on what is covered, but can also save you from losing all your money. Vendors will not cover losses due to hurricanes as they can't control mother nature.

I haven't stayed at a Riu property in the Bahamas but I have stayed at Riu Jalisco in Mexico. I had the best time ever! There are so many things to do there... bars, clubs, pool, activities (snorkeling, tours, etc) and excellent restaurants. I'm sure the Riu in the Bahamas will offer only the best. Sorry I couldn't give you any info on your destination but I thought it was important for you to know that Riu is one of the best. Good luck and have a great time on your trip!
