Travel Info i'm the mother of two children and would like to take a trip out of the country. the father is not list on the birth certtificate. what documentation would i need? Travel Tips I'm not one-hundred percent positive what you will need. The best thing to do is ask your travel agency or the company you booked it thru. They will be able to tell you exacts and/or tell your who to, or contact the people that will give them the information. I believe that all you will need is a raised seal birth certificate. If you don't have the original you can go your health department, sometimes the hospital they were born at, to get a new copy made. But it has to be official. You could also get them a passport, this is usally the easiest way to get through customs and the like. But as long as you are the legal guardian of the children, you shouldn't need to get any other documentation for your children. I believe that if you share custody, then you have to get a notirized paper stating the other person has approved the children's travel. But again, I'm not positive, so the best thing is to contact the company or agency you booked thru to get the exaxct details. Hope this helps Others You need to get them passports. Most international countries will not let you in with just a birth certificate as identification. Allow 6 to 8 weeks before your trip when you apply or else you have to pay extra fees to expedite. |
