Has anyone traveled to the Bahamas in.....? |
Travel Info I am planning a vacation to the Bahamas for April 23rd to April 27th. Is this a good month to travel to the island? Does anyone know what airport I should fly into? Does anyone know how far of a distance it is from Nassau airport to Paradise island? Any other information on this topic would be greatly apreciated. Especially the weather during those travel dates. Travel Tips I was just there in may and the weather was awesome, only rained 1x for 15 minutes. I think you are going at one of the best times of the season. You are gonna love it! You should fly into Nassau airport, its only about 20 minutes from paradise island. You are gonna love the Atlantis, that hotel has a string ray that is so big you wont believe your eyes. Just be care full when on certain parts of the island always travel in pairs. Hope you enjoy it we did. Also check out Stewart cove, they are a snorkel / scuba place. They are located were the movie flipper was filmed. Feel free to ask me more questions, my best friend was living there all last year. So she knows all the best places to go to. Others the weather will be around the same temperature as floridas weather and it wont take you long to get to paradise island becuase its a very small island That is a great time to go to Nassau! The weather should be pretty much rain free, warm but not to hot, might be rather windy though. You will fly into Nassau (NAS) unless you are flying on a seaplane, then you will land near Paradise Island. NAS is about 30 minutes to Paradise Island, depending on the driver. :) We go to NAS frequently ( going again in Jan 07 ), we always get around by #10 bus, it is $1 per person, from point A to B, very easy. Since you plan on staying on Paradise ISland, to get over the bridge fares will be higher due to the toll. About $5 per person, again, depends on the driver. It is not overly busy that time of year ( unless there is something special going on, like tournaments ) so you should be able to negotiate decent cab fares... ask the cost & if it seems to much, just say "No, thanks, to much" and most likely they will drop the $$. you can email me if you have more questions :) Hope this helps! The only thing I can think of is that it might be spring break time? You may run into young kids. That may be good or bad for you! best time is before the college kids go on spring break.From Nassau airport to paradise island 20 mins by cab July there is the Junkanoo festival and the island's independence an inexpensive hotel is the cable beach hotel for more luxury the Atlantis hotel is it with the casino.
