Travel Info I leave to go to the bahamas march 31 the only problem is the darn passort people say i want get my passport until 4/07/07 and thats the date i return back home i sent my passort papers off jan. 29 and haven't recieved it back because they say "their system is backed up." and to do a experdite service it will take up to 3 weeks cause again their system is backed up! i was wondering can i go to the bahamas without a passport can i just show my liscence, birth certificate or something? Travel Tips Call your Congressman in the morning. That's what they are there for.. Others I would ask a travel agent not anybody on here. Just to be safe to make sure you get back home ok. Have Fun This happens so much, these days I don't know how easy it is, but before I was a flight attendant I worked as a check in agent we used to call direct to customs in the Bahamas, we would get the agents name and explain the circumstances and in most cases we we allowed to send the passengers, we took their name and provided in the APIS system and they were allowed to travel, check with the airline they may not allow it, but at the end of the day the decision holds with them, which alot of passengers don't realize but it is an option that has saved alot of people getting denied, all that customs really want to know is business or pleasure and they do allow the "one of's " to come to the island......get your travel agent to call them before you hit the check in counter if you feel that you may be denied, it doesn't work in all cases but like I said , I got many people to bypass by calling customs directly............ But it looks like you better pay the extra money to get it expedite it. no you can't go with out a passport that is a new law Naw that is a good question..but the thing is can you enter the US without one.
