Honeymooning 7 days & 7 nights in Nassau, Bahamas budget of $1,000.00 any low priced activities? |
Travel Info Vacation package already paid for just need an estimate of how much spending money we should bring. So far we barely have $1000.00. Any suggestions on how to stretch money? Travel Tips I went last year and went on a couple of sight seeing tours arranged through my hotel. One was a Robinson Crusoe day cruise which was about $60 per person and included lunch with wine (or lemonade), I think we were gone about 6 hours. The other was a city and country tour, which lasted about 4 hours and included lunch at a local restaurant, that was about $50 per person. Eating there can be very expensive, we stayed in the downtown area, so we ate at McDonalds, Subway, Burger King, etc. We also bought souvenirs at the straw market, you can talk the vendors down from their original prices. If you aren't staying in the downtown area, take the buses called "Jitneys," they were only a dollar to ride. Stay away from the cabs as much as possible, they are very expensive and some drivers will try to cheat you. Most of all, just walk around and have fun!! Others Spend time on the beach. Stay in the room and m a k e l o v e. You might want to reconsider where you're going. Nothing is cheap because everything is imported. Take your average American cost, and add 35% to it. That's how much things go for down there. Maybe sight seeing would be better if you want to go cheap. But it's a honeymoon, do it right or don't do it at all! I went to the Bahamas a few years ago and it was pretty pricey so make sure you bring plenty of cash. Anytime you go to a restuarant they automatically add gratuity to your bill. I think it is about 15% but I could be wrong. Definitely go snorkeling. I think boatrips that take you snorkeling are about $40.00-$50.00 |
