Legend goes that King Veeraballa of Vijayanagara once lost his way in forest. Hungry and tired, he came upon a lone hut in the thick forest where he met an old woman.When he asked for food, she gave him baked beans ('Benda Kalu' in Karnataka).The King found this humble meal taste better than the richest fare.To commemorate this incident, he called the place "Benda Kalu Ooru"(place of baked beans). Bangalore today is getting popular though for a different variety of Beans-JavaBeans. Capital of the Southern state of Karnataka, Bangalore today is Asia's fastest growing cosmopolitan city. Bangalore is also home to some of India's premier scientific establishments. Blessed with a salubrious climate, gardens & parks, natural lakes, architectural landmarks, shopping malls, the best restaurants and pubs in this part of the globe, business opportunities, Bangalore is the ideal gateway to India and beyond. Bangalore offers something for everyone-music and dance concerts (Western and Indian), dramas, exhibitions, carnivals, conferences and more. Go disco-hopping or pub-crawling, shop till your feet give away,relax in the swankiest restaurants or with your favourite movie stars-in the movie hall or simply tee off to glory. Welcome to Bangalore. Others worst place...dead trafic, heavy pollution....corruption and very crowded....not trying to scare you...but its a fact First of all you must be able to understand their thick indian accent. You must master it. Bangalore sucks! with a capital S...spare yourself the agony and dont come, if you can avoid it..ive been here for about 3 months now..and im still pissing ****..literally..not to mention clubs close at 11..11? may God help you if you have to live here..I want my artery clogging macdonalds and taco bell back! locals are very quarrelsome. believe me , even the supreme court of india asked the solicitor of karnataka in one of the court cases - why do u quarrel so much with your neighbours? place is crowded, polluted, hotttt, and ............. look for a better place. well compared to Goa,, it is a lot cooler and a bit more civilised. they have a few pubs there, not sure about clubs, though a hotel we stayed at had one..pollution? not as bad as mumbai.. its ok, would,nt like to live there , got some great shops, and a Kentucky. burger king, i made the mistake of going in there and asking for a beef burger,, had to settle for chicken.. should of known better i guess.. lol Stay uot, or U will repent. |
