Places to visit around coorg and suggestions for itenary n accomodation? |
Travel Info hi, am visiting mysore and coorg with my family for 3 days this month end. Can anyone who has already been there suggest various places to see and give some details reg accomodation n charges? Travel Tips OK, here are some places I would recommend - Devarakadus - rain-forest - Kushalnagar for the Tibetian influence - Mendikeri and its fort -sheer beauty - Walnoor 30 km from Medikeri for fishing Orange country is recommended stay. hope this will help Also Check out Oktatabyebye.com - there are 3 travelogues there that offer quite a wealth of info with all details, even phone nos etc. I refer the site quite a lot when i travel and mostly give back by posting my stuff back there too. have a good trip Others thats great to no sonebody there intrested to go to coorg...in coorg u can go to kushalnagar there is a tibet colony and there is nisarga dhama,boating,elephant safari,then u can go to nagarahole its a wild forest..its towards south of coorg..then u can go irupu falls its a water falls a beautifull...in north u can go to madikeri raja seat,omkareshwara temple,abbi falls..its a water falls again...u can go orange county a beautifull resort...u can get home stay where u can taste the coorg home food..u can go trekking... http://sripathikamath.wordpress.com/2006... http://www.travelcoorg.com/html/about_co... http://reji.tripod.com/coorg.html... While travelling from Mysore, first go to Tibetian Golden Temple, which is situated in Bylakuppe, at the entrance to Coorg. Then u enter Kushalnagar, which is the starting of Coorg. Here, u have Harangi Reservoir Dam(entry is closed at 5:30p.m), Nisarga Dhama. Then u can proceed to Madikeri. Before reaching the town, u have Abbey falls, which requires 15-20 mins of walking down the steps. This is amidst he coffee plantations and and nice to see when in full swing. In Madikeri u have Omkareshwar temple and then Raja's seat(sunset here is nice to watch). Then further ahead u have Bhagamandala and Talakaveri( the origin of the river kaveri and a nice view point). On the way back to Mysore u can see nagarhole wild life santuary(the safari ends by 4:00 pm.m), which is a slight deviation from Hunsur road. and if time permits Irpu falls. have a wonderful trip and u can see coffee blossoms now, if u r planning within 2-3 days from now. Its a rare sight and splendid. |
