Travel Info I want to plan a trip from Bangalore to Kodiakanal.. Can someone please guide me? Travel Tips The best way to go to Kodi is by driving down. Approx distance from Bangalore is 460 kms. Leave Bangalore by 6.30 am and you will reach Kodi by 4 pm. Buffet breakfast at Grand renaisance at a distance of 40kms from Bangalore is decent (about 6 kms from Hosur). Drive down via Krishnagiri (toll road), Kaveripatnam, Dharmapuri. Salem. Lunch probably at the Madurai intersection at Salem. Take right at the signboard leading to Madurai. You will drive down via Namakkal, Karur and at Dindigul turn right at the sign board leading to Kodaikanal. Bangalore Dindigul is 375 kms. After about 10kms from vathalagudu turn right towards kodaikanal. In case you are member of any club, you could be affiliated to Kodia club or the Kodai golf club. Stay at both places are excellent. There are a few serviced apartments too. On your way back, you might want drive down via Palani. The descent is scenic and overall distance is same. There are lots of places in Kodi which is away from the matching bangles, dupatta and just dried mehndi hands of honeymooners. The reason you may want to have your own car. also taxis are expensive. Have a super trip. Others U can go to Madurai and pick a cab from Madurai to Kodai.. or u can go to Kodai Road and pick a cab from there... there are so many hotels/resorts around kodai lake.. u can book a room in that.. visit www.hotelsinkodai.com for more details on resorts and hotels... u can book train tickets from B'lore to Madurai/Kodai road thru www.irctc.com... Indian Railways website You should be telling how you plan to travel (Train, Road, Plane, or combination of these). For train and plane, go to Madhurai and get transport from there. For sight-seeing, most of the hotels would have arrangements there. |
