What are the most common problems tourists encounter in Basel?

I want to visit Basel so I want to be ready for anything that can happen. I also want to know about the good and exciting things that I can expect.

A few times a year there are big conventions in Basel and ABSOLUTELY ALL of the hotel rooms in the entire city are taken. Source(s): I live about an hour from Basel and both my inlaws and my parents have ended up staying with us because they couldn't get a room. My parents may have been able to find something outrageously expensive but my father-in-law was on his company's dime so I don't think even had any budget at all.
