Travel Info Does anybody know best traditional-historic places to visit around Belgium? (not only the myth ones)? Travel Tips Brugges is my favourite city in belgium, although Belgium like lots of Europe has a lot of history all around the country, Brugges can be a bit too crowded if that is possible with tourists, Also Ghent is really nice. Antwerp is ok, but a little bit dirty although they are cleaning it up. St.niklaas has a great city square. I dont really know much about the eastern part of Belgium. But if you only have 2 days and are in the Western provinces, these 4 cities are a great start. Others Brussels of course(lots of things to see there, Dinant (where the Saxophone was invented), Namur (citadel), Bouillon (awesome castel from the Crusade times), Beauraing (if you are religious), Bastogne (of course), Antwerp & Brugges (awesome cities) You have the Waterloo battlefield. Also, Brugge, Ghent and Antwerp (one of my favorites) are all small enough to visit in one day with more than enough to stay busy. Brussels has loads, but you will find it is much more modern although the Grott Market is a must see. http://www.visitflanders.co.uk/historic_... Welcome to Belgium! :-) Hugo. |
