Which city would you suggest to visit in Belgium? |
Travel Info http://www.wiseorb.com/articles-review-3... Travel Tips Antwerp, historically one of Belgium and the Low Countries' most important cities in terms of economy and culture, is situated on the right bank of the river Scheldt which by the Westerschelde links to the North Sea. The port, one of the world's largest and in Europe preceeded only by Rotterdam and Hamburg, has a high level of cargo shipping and oil refineries. Families of the largest Hassidic Jewish community outside of New York traditionally control the top center of the global diamond industry 鈥?before London's Hatton Garden aka Diamond street, New York City's diamond district, and South Africa. Since the 1990s several graduates of the Belgian Royal Academy of Fine Arts have become internationally successful fashion designers in Antwerp. Source(s): http://www.antwerpen.be/ecache/ben/52.ht... Other Travel Tips well, of course I'm not very objective' cause I live here 25 years, but Antwerp is really the most diverse city in Belgium . . it's stunning and has it all!!!!! It really depends what you're looking for. I lived for some time in Belgium (Antwerp), but Brugge is really beautiful and Leuven is a very lifely univercity city. I suggest you stay away from Wallonia. South of belgium is nice. If you like nature come to my region :p www.soleildegaume.com You might consider Bruges, a very beautiful medieval city, great history, but very, very touristic, you have loads of Japanese people visiting, and so on... I would recommend Gent, it has both the history of Bruges, it's less overrun and it's also the second universty city after Leuven (louvain) so lots of options for going out. Lot of culture, too. |
