Good place to live, but not for too long. Night life is good, although limited to a few decent bars and clubs. A few decent shops, and it's cheap enough to get back ot London on the train. Much easier if you can speak some French. Lived there for a year - perhaps that made coming back to London better...

im in belgium but am living in knokke.. another side of the country.. well , as far as i know its a busy city, a lot of foreigner there and crime do increase yearly. maybe its depends too in which part of brussel u will stay too.
It is just another big City. Don't know where you are from , are you English or American, I think you should take the opportunity. I am in the military and I have never not liked it anywhere. Go for it -what a great opportunity.
Do you like eating snails? That will be the highlight of your day if the answer is yes, otherwise mehhh.............
