I Have One Day In Brussels, Any Suggestions (What I Should Do)? |
Travel Info I was planning on staying in Brussels for 2 weeks, but I got too busy with exams and forgot to book a hostel. So while my friends are staying in Brussels for 3 days (from the 17th to the 19th), I'm coming on the 18th to spend the day there (I live in Holland there are one-day-return train tickets where you leave Holland at 6 am and arive at Schipol at midnight). What would you guys suggest I do (and my friends do) with the limited amount of time? Travel Tips The tour bus is good if you have money (27 Euro), but try the audioguide if you want, too. One is for rent at the Grand Place tourist office, and one is vailable for free online. 1 Grand Place 2 Guild Buildings on Grand Place 3 Manneken Pis 4 Saint Michael's Cathedral 5* Mont des Arts 6* Musical Instruments Museum 7 Place du Grand Sablon 8 Place du Petit Sablon 9 Place du Petit Sablon Walking Tour 鈥?1st Half 10 Place du Petit Sablon Walking Tour 鈥?2nd Half 11* Palace of Justice 12 Royal Palace and Park of Brussels 13* Koekelberg Basilica 14* Horta Museum 15 Atomium 16 Parc du Cinquantenaire - Jubilee Park *Sights are part of the premium version of the iAudioguide for Brussels There is the Christmas market with Ice Skating these days, too Source(s): http://iaudioguide.com/download-free-aud... Other Travel Tips Shop for chocolates in the tourist section in the lower town, stop in for a moules-frites, and have a few beers in the bars. Visit the big town square in that area as well. There is a cool music museum with a neat restaurant on the top floor near the art museum. Make sure you go to the grand place and eat in one of the many restaurants in the surrounding streets, more like alleys-if you are American. Everyone needs to see the Manekin Pis, directions to the statue from the Grand Place are posted like street signs. I used to live in Amsterdam too and miss the city. I was in Brussels for a week last Spring break and had a great time. The chocolate at marcolinni is great! Personal Experience It depends on how much time you really want to spend and how. If you want to dicover the city in 3 hours ..here is a suggestion http://www.brussels-city-tours.com/... Take the brussels city tour ..which lasts about 3 hours. And you can also check other options within the site including other cities. The organisers are very reliable and consistent. Another suggestion is NOT to go for your beers in the grandplace area where every tourist goes...but walk across the De bouers in the Saint gerry area where the locals go... it is 300 meters from Grand place,(which you should definetely visit). http://www.brussels-city-tours.com/... |
