Travel Info I know English and try to move to Brussels to study. Although i will have to work there to have some money for living. I don't know any French but i will be taking it next semester for half year. I'm afraind i will not find any good job there. I'm a BA major and would like to work in some business. Anyone with same experience? Pls help with some resourses for find jobs in Brussels for English Speaking people...thanks to all.. Travel Tips try applying to the European Commision in Brussels...they always use English speakers...even if only for work experience...but the pay is normally pretty good! or you can try the expats site...they help English speaking people find each other..pubs,jobs,accomodation,... www.expatsinbrussels.be www.expatsinbrussels.com failing that search for English/Irish pubs, could get some bar work-not great,i know, but better than nothing and best place to meet English speaking people! Others Have you checked out through immigration laws if you're allowed to work, not being a citizen, or whether there are certain requirements to meet? In every city, some people rent out a room in their home. This would be a start. Very difficult!!!! My husband is Irish here now 6 Years in Belgium, he went to school to learn Dutch. No work !! They discriminated here , think again before you come over. They ratter force disabled people to work here, that's Belgium! Brussels is a very international city. There are major European Union offices here. It is the location of the headquarters of many international companies as well. There are close to 1/4 million native English speakers living there. Here are some job resources: http://lingvo.org/2/15 Since tourism is a part of the economy, may service jobs require English as well. Though it is best if you can also speak French or Flemish. You can also obtain job and English speaking community info at: http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/b... |
